Thoughts on Puyo Puyo
Puyo Puyo was made by Compile and was mainly for Japanese audience, characterized by having a standard anime and manga art style at the time, but as the rights to the game franchise (including its characters) were sold to Sega due to Compile's financial struggles, then Puyo Puyo got gradually westernized, starting with Puyo Puyo Fever. Now, similar how Sonic the Hedgehog does, the Puyo Puyo franchise feels like a western franchise and is too cartoony, with the habit of its fans primarily coming from Twitter/X and later, Bluesky.
